Psychologist / Who we are

Our team of Psychologists includes:

Dr Gemma Casey

BSc (Ions) DClinPsych

I am a qualified HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. Since qualifying in 2010, I have worked in the NHS and as an Independent practitioner since 2013.

I offer therapy sessions around various problems such as difficulties with mood (including depression and anxiety), stress, relationship problems or adjustment issues, for example when newly diagnosed with a condition or illness. When working therapeutically I use an integrative approach where I am able to draw upon various models depending on the needs, preferences and circumstances of the individual. I commonly use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), solution focussed, behavioural or aspects of attachment theory in my work. I offer therapy sessions for individuals, couples or families if required.

I have developed a special interest in working with adults and young people on the autistic spectrum and with other neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD. I am an accredited DISCO assessor which is a tool to assess and diagnose autistic spectrum conditions and am able to offer assessment and diagnosis for adults with suspected ADHD. In addition to assessing, I also offer therapy sessions for people with autism and/or ADHD either individually or with partners or family members.
